King Charles, North America visit: Monarch arrives in Canada amid simmering tensions with Prince Harry

King Charles has arrived in North America for the first time since becoming sovereign, as tensions with his son Prince Harry continue to simmer.
The monarch and Queen Camilla arrived in Ottawa, Canada, on Monday for a short visit as the 76-year-old continues to receive weekly cancer treatment.
In a coincidental turn, Prince Harry, who resides in California, quietly travelled to Shanghai to attend a global travel and tourism conference.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” the Duke of Sussex said.
“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”
Unlike previous royal visits, Charles’ twentieth visit to Canada will be short and sweet, according to People.
Charles and Camilla have a jam-packed schedule, starting with a community event where the couple will meet Canadians representing charity organisations from across the country.

The King will also hold an audience with Governor General Mary Simon before meeting with newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The highlight of the visit will take place on Tuesday, when Charles will attend the State Opening of Parliament with Camilla, marking only the second time a Sovereign has opened Canada’s Parliament.
Queen Elizabeth was the first to do so in 1957.
Charles will deliver a speech from the throne in the Senate Chamber, which is considered to be a “significant moment” according to a source.
It will be the third time in history that a King has delivered the throne speech.
Several royal experts believe that any hopes of a reunion between King Charles and Prince Harry can be forgotten.
