San Fernando Valley: News helicopter crash kills at least three people in Los Angeles, fire department says
At least three people are dead after a news helicopter burst into flames while covering another fatal crash in Los Angeles.
At least three people have been killed after a helicopter crashed in the US.
On Tuesday evening, around 5pm local time, a Los Angeles news helicopter crashed near while covering a bus crash in California’s San Fernando Valley which killed two and injured others.
CBS News reported that the aircraft appeared to land on top of two shipping containers and several vehicles and burst into flames.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The amount of people onboard the helicopter at the time of the crash is not yet known, Los Angeles Fire Department captain Branden Silverman said.
“We do have one confirmed patient that seemed to be outside of the helicopter when it crashed,” he said.
“That person was declared deceased on scene. ... At this point, we have not confirmed how many victims, or how many people, were inside the helicopter.”
It is not clear which news organisation the aircraft belongs to.
“The helicopter itself, it’s pretty well destroyed, so we are going to have to go through the rubble and see how many victims there were on board as well as identify the helicopter,” Captain Silverman said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
