Tenerife South Airport: Horror moment airport staff realise man is trying to bring dead wife on plane

Airport staff were left horrified after a man allegedly attempted to bring his dead wife onto a flight.
Security at Tenerife South Airport in Spain stopped an 80-year-old man after they became suspicious of his wife’s condition.
Near the airport’s metal detector checkpoint, staff observed the woman seated in a wheelchair.

After she failed to react to this movement, he raised the alarm which led to further questioning.
According to Spanish news outlet, Diario de Avisos, the man told staff that his wife had died while they were at the airport, just hours before they were set to take off.
He was arrested and cooperated with officers.
There has been no further information released about the woman’s time and cause of death, though Tenerife South Airport confirmed the incident took place in the later months of last year.
It is unclear if the unidentified 80-year-old man remains in custody. Authorities have not revealed if any charges have been laid.
Investigations remain ongoing.
This comes after a family were accused of trying to bring the dead body of their elderly relative onto a flight by telling the crew the woman was “just tired”.
Passengers and crew on an easyJet flight from Malaga to Gatwick were horrified when they discovered a British woman sitting on the plane was actually dead.
The 89-year-old’s body has been brought onto the plane by the woman’s family in a wheelchair. Her body was then lifted into her seat.
EasyJet said the woman had been given a certificate which declared she was able to fly prior to the incident but did not confirm her time of death.
As she was wheeled onto the plane, some travellers observed that she seemed unresponsive, especially when she was lifted into her seat, The Mirror reported.
Malaga authorities confirmed they were called to the scene and that the woman was pronounced dead on the aircraft.
