Camilla gave Charles some words of encouragement at Trooping the Colour.

Queen Camilla was captured on camera saying three simple words to King Charles in an off-the-cuff moment at Trooping the Colour on June 15.

The couple stood on the balcony at Buckingham Palace after the traditional aerial flypast, with Camilla appearing eager to usher Charles back inside after a long day.

New video of the event from a German livestream shows the royal family, including Catherine, Princess of Wales in her first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis, waving at the crowd below.

Camilla affectionately double-taps Charles on the elbow, appearing to give him the hurry-up, before looking into his eyes and stating: “You did well.”

“Thank you,” Charles responds, before the pair turn to go inside.

King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, confirmed he would be present at the event, which celebrates the birthday of the monarch every June, regardless of their actual birth date.

Royal photographer James Whatling said it was understandable that Camilla was eager to get back inside.

“It is very much a stage, and all eyes are on them, and all these cameras are on them,” he told HELLO’s A Right Royal Podcast.

“And it must get a little bit uncomfortable after a while.”

The 75-year-old made some slight alterations to the usual traditions, such as travelling in a horse-drawn carriage down The Mall instead of on horseback like his son, Prince William, and his sister, Princess Anne.

HELLO royal editor Emily Nash noted that earlier in the day’s proceedings it had been pouring with rain, not ideal for a King battling cancer.

“(Charles) spent a long time also on a podium outside the palace as one of the most incredible downpours was taking place, taking the salute from the returning Guardsmen,” Nash said.

“That’s duty, isn’t it?

“That really is duty, as someone who’s still undergoing treatment, to stand there in that, and it shows the character of the King.”

Charles and Camilla appeared in good spirits as they attended the third day of the Royal Ascot races on Thursday.

The pair laughed together as they stood in the Royal Box and egged on their horse, Gilded Water, in the King George V Stakes on Ladies’ Day.

It wasn’t to be a win, however, with Gilded Water placing well back in 12th position.

Queen Camilla wore a white silk crepe dress by Dior, a matching hat by Philip Treacy and a jade diamond brooch which once belonged to Queen Elizabeth.

Other royals attending on the day included Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall with her husband Mike Tindall.
