Luke Allman: Gender reveal celebration turns violent as dad-to-be stabs bouncer at Stockport bar

A man has been jailed after he violently attacked bar staff, stabbing one of them while he was supposed to be celebrating the gender reveal of his first child.
Luke Allman, 26, had found out the gender of his child on February 23, and then went out to drink with his friends in Stockport, Manchester before the night took a grisly turn.
They began at Wetherspoons before moving to another bar, Bask, where Allman stood in a “no service” area and began to shout that he had been waiting there for ages.

Bask staff asked him to leave, and he was then “violently ejected” from the bar, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
CCTV footage shows Allman returning just 12 minutes later with a flick knife in hand as he tried to get past the bouncer, hitting him in the process and telling him “It’s alright pal, I just need one minute”.
He then shouted “I’m going to f**king kill everyone” before stabbing a doorman who was not involved in kicking him out earlier.
Four staff members overpowered Allman in a violent struggle, and were eventually able to wrestle the knife from him.
The stabbing victim was left with a protruding bowel wound to his abdomen that required emergency surgery. One other worker was hit on the head, and another sustained an injured thumb.
The man who was stabbed had believed he was going to die.
“I’m normally quite active, but after that moment I am wary of my surroundings and look around a lot more,” the unnamed victim said.
“When people are around I’m scared, worried and anxious. I don’t want to return to door work due to the risk to my safety and other people.”
A woman who worked as a bouncer was admitted to a psychiatric ward for two weeks after the incident.
“I’ve never been so scared and embarrassed in my life. This stupid, unnecessary incident changed my life forever,” she said.
Allman was sentenced to jail for nine years after he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent as well as for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and for his possession of the flick knife.
Henry Blackshaw, Allman’s lawyer, said there was no grudge against the man who was stabbed, and that it happened simply because he was the closest person at the time.
Judge Maurice Greene said that being removed from the premises earlier did not serve as a significant point of mitigation for Allman because he returned less than a quarter of an hour later and “exacted retribution”.
