American barista and TikTokker outraged by PR package from supplement brand Renude

An American woman has unleashed on a wellness brand for sending a rechargeable screen in a PR package.
Barista Lara was on the job when her workplace received the package from Renude — a California based coffee shop and drink supplement brand — to promote their mushroom powder: Chagaccino.
Upon opening the delivery, Lara and her coworkers were astounded to find a cardboard book with a screen playing promotional video of the new product.

“How many people are going to open it, look at it for one seconds and throw it into landfill?” she asked her followers in disbelief.
“For a company to be promoting something that’s like holistic and organic and supposed to be good for you. . . to pull this shit?”
One of Lara’s biggest gripes lies in the company’s decision to include a charging cable.
“The fact they send us a charger so we could charge the package to rewatch the promotional video over and over again if we wanted to,” she said.

“Do you know how easy it would’ve been to write on a post it note or a note card and say ‘hey, would you like to try our mushroom coffee? Here’s a sample.”
“I feel like I’m in hell, I feel like I want to rip my skin off because why is a holistic mushroom coffee company sending tablets in their PR packages to show you their promotional video?”
The brand’s marketing move didn’t go down well with Lara’s followers either.
“Charging an ad is crazy,” one person wrote.
“They couldn’t do a QR code?,” another asked.
“Unfortunately I’ve seen people use these for freaking wedding invites. These ‘disposable’ screens and batteries should be illegal,” added another.
Renude has been contacted for comment.
