Corvette Junior Public School: Teacher allegedly showed students Charlie Kirk video, said he ‘deserved it’

A teacher has been suspended after they allegedly showed the graphic Charlie Kirk assassination video to a classroom of young students.
The situation came to light after parents of 10 and 11-year-olds at Corvette Junior Public School in Toronto complained that their children were shown the disturbing footage last Thursday.
Now, the Toronto District School Board has launched an investigation into the shocking allegation.

“During class, students were said to have been shown a portion of a violent video in response to questions being asked about a recent tragic event in the United States,” Ms Koptie wrote.
“The video is believed to have been shown once by a staff member supervising the class who is not the homeroom teacher.
“While an investigation must still be conducted to learn all of the details, the report of this incident is extremely troubling and completely unacceptable.”
A source told the Toronto Sun that students went home from the class “traumatised” from witnessing the recorded death, and that the teacher has been put on leave by the school since Friday.
The teacher then gave a “speech” to the students about anti-fascism and transgender identities before saying Mr Kirk “deserved for this to occur”, the source said.
Ms Koptie said the school recognises the seriousness of the matter, and has “taken immediate steps to follow all appropriate policies and procedures” which included relieving the teacher of all teaching responsibilities “pending the outcome of the investigation”.
She offered assistance to any students struggling after the alleged incident.
“I also want to assure you that our top priority is supporting students. Social Work support has been made available to the school,” she said.
This comes after a University of Toronto academic was sent home after making a post on social media which suggested shooting is “too good” for fascists.
The post made on X by Dr Ruth Marshall said “shooting is honestly too good for so many of you fascist c**ts”.
