Donald Trump: Tesla Cybertruck explodes outside hotel in Las Vegas killing one, injuring many bystanders

Elon Musk claims a Tesla cybertruck explosion outside one of Donald Trump’s hotels in Las Vegas was likely an “act of terror” and questioned whether it could be linked to a terror attack in New Orleans that happened hours earlier.
In a post on his social media platform X, the close confidant of president-elect Donald Trump wrote earlier that it had been confirmed the explosion was not caused by a fault of the Cybertruck.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.“We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion,” he wrote.
In a subsequent post, he wrote: “Appears likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way.”
Turo is a car-sharing app that operates similarly to Airbnb and sells itself as an alternative to rental car companies.
Terrifying vision has emerged of the Cybertruck exploding in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas around 8.40am — killing one person and injuring many more in suspected terror attack.
The driver pulled into the valet area of the hotel and the vehicle exploded. The driver was killed in the incident, with Las Vegas metropolitan police and Clark County fire department officials saying they were “working to get the body out”.
Seven people nearby reportedly received minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
ABC News is reporting that the Tesla had a load of “fireworks-style mortars” onboard, according to officials with investigators urgently working to determine a motive and whether the driver intended to set off the explosion and why.
“I know you have a lot of questions,” Jeremy Schwartz, acting FBI Special Agent in Charge for the Las Vegas office, said at a news conference.
“We don’t have a lot of answers.”
Eric Trump, a son of the president-elect and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, posted about the fire on X and praised the fire department and local law enforcement “for their swift response and professionalism.”
The 64-story hotel is just off the famed Las Vegas Strip and across the street from the Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping mall.
