Emily Gold: America’s Got Talent star dies in tragic circumstances in California

TV fans in the US are in shock after the circumstances surrounding the death of a young star come to light.

Emily Gold, a 17-year-old dancer and cheerleader who appeared on America’s Got Talent, was confirmed dead after California highway patrol officers retrieved her body from a motorway near an overpass.

The coroner’s office confirmed that Ms Gold, a Los Osos High School student in San Bernadino, was found dead on the road last Friday.

“Officers from the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga area responded to a pedestrian down in lanes,” a California highway patrol statement said.

“When the officers arrived, they located a female, 17-year-old, who was struck by at least one other vehicle in the carpool lane on eastbound 210.

“The female did succumb to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Emily Gold participated appeared on America’s Got Talent Season 19 as a part of the high school dance group that made a a g ib impression made a big impression.

Simon Cowell applauded the dancers for their “absolutely brilliant” performance.

The act advanced to the quarterfinals of the series after clearing the audition process but was voted out in August.

Ms Gold recently told PEOPLE: “When I’m performing, I’m really thinking about all the corrections because we get corrections up until five minutes before we go on stage. So to really just think about all those so that we apply them is my biggest priority on stage.”

A GoFundMe page created after her death states: “With great sadness, we share our Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold has passed away. As a community, let’s come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time. Please know this money will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses.”
