OJ Simpson gloated he was in ‘good’ health in final social media video before his cancer death, aged 76
OJ Simpson gloated to his fans about his “good” health and rubbished reports he was gravely ill in his final social media videos weeks before his death.
The controversial NFL star, who died from cancer aged 76 on Wednesday, had been battling prostate cancer but continued to deny reports about his ailing health in videos to his 875,000 followers on X.
Just two months ago, amid rumours he was in a hospice, he appeared upbeat as he leant out of his car window claimed he was watching the SuperBowl with friends.

And any of that, I’m hosting a tonne of friends for the SuperBowl here in Las Vegas and all is well.”
On February 12, amid reports he had been seen appearing frail, he posed next to a swimming pool as he again insisted he was in good shape.
“My health is good; I mean, obviously, I’m dealing with some issues, but, hey, I think I’m just about over it, and I’ll be back on that golf course, hopefully in a couple of weeks,” he said.
Simpson first made his prostate cancer diagnosis public in May 2023, revealing he smoked cannabis to help with nausea.
“In recent years I unfortunately caught cancer and so I had to do the whole chemo thing,” he said.
“I’m over the chemo but I only got nausea on two occasions and it only lasted two or three minutes so I thought the pot helped me with that form of the unfortunate side of catching cancer,” he said.
“In an event I’m healthy now, it looks like I beat it, I’m happy about that.”
Simpson’s death was announced on his X page by his family on Wednesday. His family told how he succumbed to cancer “surrounded by his children and grandchildren”.
