Tennis legend Serena Williams made a surprise appearance in Kendrick Lamar’s highly-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show.

The 43-year-old joined the rapper’s backup dancers as he broke into his Grammy award-winning song Not Like Us — Lamar’s fourth diss track directed at Drake.

Scenes in the Caesars Superdome were wild after the entire crowd yelled out the infamous bridge “Tryna strike a chord but it’s probably A minor” before the camera cut to Williams on stage.

Standing atop an elevated street light that was part of the set, Williams went all out doing the crip-walk.

The famous dance move was created in the 1970s and originated in Compton, Lamar’s hometown.

Jumping on X after her appearance, an exhilarated Williams confessed she put more energy into the cameo than her 2012 Wimbledon victory dance where she performed the same move.

“Man I did not crip-walk like that at Wimbledon, oh I would’ve been fined,” she said.

However, William’s part in the show was no random decision, in his song Lamar makes a jibe at Drake and William’s past dating history.

The lyrics read, “From Alondra down to Central, ***** better not speak on Serena,” referencing Drake’s remarks about his fling with the tennis star.

In 2011, rumours began circulating that the Canadian rapper and athlete were dating after Drake was spotted cheering her on at one of her tournaments.

Four years later in 2015, celebrity news site TMZ published photos of the pair at a restaurant in Cincinnati.

If Lamar sought out to troll his rival, he sure did a good a job.
