A young mother has died after falling to her death off an amusement park slide in a freak accident.

Shocking footage shows the final moments before Yuris Cristel Camila Garcia Manrique, 28, was pushed to her death down a massive slide at the popular tourist site, Entre Flores in Chinacota, Colombia.

“Will anyone be waiting for me?”, Ms Manrique asks the worker.

He tells her there is a swimming pool at the bottom that “always catches people”.

“Don’t be scared”, Ms Manrique is told before she is pushed down the drop.

Ms Manrique is seen speeding down the steep slide before disappearing around the bend. Seconds later, screams can be heard from the bottom as a staff member asks, “Did she fall off?”

The young mum was reportedly thrown off the ride at the bend and fell around four and a half metres to the ground below.

According to local media, La Prensa, Ms Manrique suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as multiple injuries to her abdomen and chest.

She was immediately rushed to hospital but tragically died on the way.

The slide, known as the Rainbow Slide, had only been in operation since the start of February and was touted on social media as having an “extreme bend”.

In a translated statement shared on Instagram, Entre Flores said it “deeply regrets” the tragic incident.

“Faced with this painful event, we wish to express to the family, friends, and loved ones of Yuris Cristel Camila Garcia Manrique our condolences and our most sincere feeling of solidarity. We join our hearts with yours as you go through this difficult moment.”

It added that “the company immediately activated the emergency and assistance protocols” and is willing to “collaborate with the authorities” on the investigation.

“We are providing all required information so that the investigations can advance properly.”

According to La Prensa, Ms Manrique’s mother said: “It was our daughter who died. We demand a proper investigation and that those responsible for Camila’s death be held accountable.”

Ms Manrique is survived by her four-year-old daughter.
