A tahini paste sold at Woolworths has been recalled over fears the product is contaminated with salmonella.

AB World Foods has recalled its Al’Fez Natural Tahini Paste 160g.

The product has been available for sale nationally.

According to Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) the product has been contaminated with salmonella, which “may cause illness if consumed”.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” it said.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

The product should be returned to its place of purchase for a full refund.
