Australia weather: Low pressure system brings severe warning, possible flash flooding to Victoria and NSW
Two severe weather warnings have been issued for Australia’s east coast as a band of wet weather crosses the country, bringing with it thunderstorms and possible flash floods.
A band of rain stretching from Queensland to Tasmania is set to drench the east coast of Australia this week thanks to a low pressure system bringing storms and possible flooding.
New South Wales has been issued with a severe weather warning for the Snowy Mountains and South West slopes throughout Tuesday morning thanks to the system, with up to 60mm of rain expected.
Sydney will see a maximum of 22C with up to 9mm of rain on the way.

Melbourne will see up to 20mm of rain with just a 15C maximum.
BOM meteorologist David Crock says the low pressure system will bring the “first real” severe springtime storms as winter comes to a close.
“(The system is) extending plenty of rain across the eastern states, which will spread further east during Tuesday,” Mr Crock said.
“The focus tonight and early Tuesday is around Adelaide and the Hills in particular, and then the focus later on Tuesday morning moves to the north-east Victorian ranges and the southern slopes of New South Wales, where heavy rainfall is possible.
“Then on Tuesday afternoon, this trough is going to act as the focus for an outbreak of thunderstorms, some of them possibly severe through a large part of eastern Australia.”
Brisbane will see a partly cloudy 26C maximum with no rain, but 7mm is expected on Wednesday.
Up to 10mm will fall across the Adelaide metropolitan area on Tuesday, with a 17C maximum.
Perth will reach 21C during a partly cloudy day, and Darwin will see a mostly sunny 32C maximum.
Showers will be increasing in Hobart thanks to the system, with a 9mm rainfall and 15C maximum.
