Police are urgently searching for a driver after a young child was seriously injured in a hit-and-run on Friday afternoon.

The three-year-old boy was found with a serious leg injury alongside The Strand in Bayswater sometime between 12.30pm and 1pm.

It is believed he was hit by a blue vehicle and the driver failed to stop.

The victim was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital by his family, where he remains in a stable condition.

Anyone who was driving a blue vehicle in the area at the time is urged to come forward via Crime Stoppers.
