A BMW driver has allegedly been carjacked by a pair of thieves with a machete on a street in Melbourne’s southeast.

The rented BMW pulled over on Allen St in Noble Park at 10.20pm on Thursday and as it did so, two people approached.

One of the duo allegedly wielded a machete and told the victims to get out of the car, before allegedly stealing it.

Police were able to track the car to an address in Byrnes St in Deer Park, where they also found a Mazda Elite allegedly stolen from Aintree on June 30.

A 38-year-old woman and 27-year-old man, both from Deer Park, were arrested at the scene.

They were interviewed and released pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
