Body found in Adelaide’s western suburbs after blaze rips through Fulham Gardens home

Major crime police have been called in after the discovery of a body in the debris of a western suburbs house fire.

A body was found inside a home in Adelaide’s western suburbs after a fire ripped through it on Saturday morning.

Crews found the house on Shannon St at Fulham Gardens fully alight when they arrived just before 8am.

Concerned neighbours heard no response when they had knocked on the door to make sure no one was home, and firefighters believed the home was vacant when they arrived and extinguished the blaze.

It wasn’t until hours later, as fire investigators entered the home to determine the cause of the blaze, that they found a body that is yet to be identified, 7NEWS understands.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
