A man is fighting for life after he was injured in a shocking workplace accident on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Emergency services were called to the Bluescope Steel factory on Bayview Rd in Hastings just before 9pm on Monday.

A man has sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

He was trapped under a steel roller and has to be removed by the Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria and the SES.

WorkSafe will investigate the incident.
