Bondi Beach shooting fact sheet: What police say happened in Naveed and Sajid Akram’s alleged rampage

The alleged father-and-son terrorists behind the Bondi Beach massacre were filmed months before the attack sitting in front of an Islamic State flag, justifying their plans, according to a newly released police statement of facts.
The 22-page document, now available in full below, also alleges Naveed and Sajid Akram threw homemade bombs into the crowd of Jewish families during the December 14 attack.
According to the statement, the pair undertook firearms training in regional NSW and even conducted a trip to Bondi Beach two days before the massacre.

Images included in the police facts depict the Akrams leaving an Airbnb property in Campsie at 2.16am on the morning of the attack, carrying “long and bulky” items wrapped in blankets, believed to be firearms.

“The accused and his father acted in a joint criminal enterprise, aimed at causing a person’s death and furthering an extremist political, religious and ideological cause, namely religiously motivated violent extremism aligned to Islamic State,” the document reads.
Police allege Naveed Akram, 24, was inspired by ISIS ideology when he and his father launched the assault on a crowd celebrating the first night of Hanukkah.
