Shocking new details about the Bondi terrorist attack have been revealed as the Downing Centre Local Court approved the release of bombshell documents that had been suppressed.

In the dossier of information, which includes mention of a “Bondi attack” as early as October 2025, are extraordinary new photos that capture the alleged movements of the accused, Naveed Akram, 24, and Sajid Akram, 50.

The NSW Joint Counter-Terrorism Team (JCTT), which comprised of members from NSW Police, the Australian Federal Police and ASIO, prepared a fact sheet for the court which details the alleged details leading up to the horrific attack, which left 15 innocent people dead.

The fact sheet alleged that Naveed made a booking on Airbnb in October 2025 for a property in Campsie. That booking was made for the property from December 2 to December 21 according to the document.

That Airbnb is made up of five individually bookable rooms. It is not clear if other people were staying alongside Naveed in other rooms of the Campsie Airbnb during his stay.

CCTV footage shows Naveed carrying a large bulky item. Police alleged that this item was concealing two single barrel shotguns, a Betetta rifle, four home-made improvised explosives devices, comprising of pipe bombs and a tennis ball bomb and a large IED bomb, and two Islamic State flags.

The items were allegedly put into the car, a silver Hyundai, at 2.16am in the dark of night.

CCTV later captured the father and son returning to the vehicle at 5.09pm, before they drove to Sydney’s inner-east.

On the trip from Campsie to Bondi Beach, CCTV captured the car stopping in Woollahra.

The car was seen on CCTV across multiple roads before it arrived at Bondi Beach.

When the car parked on Campbell Parade, CCTV captured Naveed and his father removing the ISIS flags from the boot of the car, placing them inside the car on the front and rear windscreens.

The father and son then allegedly moved a short distance to the footbridge at Bondi Beach, with NSW Police believing they then threw some of the explosive devices onto the carpark below.

Shocking photos of the bombs were released as part of the fact sheet.

Police say that preliminary analysis indicated the pipe bombs were made of sealed aluminium piping containing explosives, black powder and steel ball bearings. Although the device did not detonate, police say the device was “viable”.

After that, police alleged the fatal shooting begun.

Police say that the accused and his father appeared to be “targeting members of the public gathered at the Jewish religious event ‘Chanukah by the Sea 2025’, held at Archer Park. Police note the event was “publicly advertised”.

The fact sheet reveals that Naveed was shot in the abdomen by police during the gunfire exchange.

Evidence allegedly found on Naveed Akram’s phone

An iPhone was seized by NSW Police after the fatal terror attack in Bondi.

Other devices were later seized at a Bonnyrigg address and at the Airbnb the accused was staying at.

At the family home, NSW Police seized: an Apple iPhone 11, an Apple iPhone, a homemade/ wooden firearm, a long bow with 12 arrows, and a copy of the Quran with passages highlighted.

During the raid of the home in Bonnyrigg, Naveed’s mother Verena Akram told police the two men had informed her they were on a holiday in Southern NSW, claiming they left together “one week” earlier.

At the Airbnb in Campsie, NSW Police seized: a firearm scope, ammunition, a suspected IED, Sajid’s drivers license, Sajid’s Hunting Association membership card, a rifle- 30-6- calibre, a shotgun, numerous firearms parts, bomb making equipment and two copies of the Quaran (one with earmarked pages).

On those devices, JCTT found “relevant videos and images” which indicated that Naveed and Sajid “adhered to a religiously motivated violent extremist (RMVE) ideology”, according to the fact sheet.

In a video, the father and son were observed reciting a passage from the Quran, before speaking in English, mentioning the “Bondi attack” and condemning the acts of “Zionists”.

In that video, NSW Police say that the accused recite “political and religious views” and “appear to summarise their justification for the Bondi terrorist attack”.

In other CCTV evidence dated December 12, 2025, two men, who police allege are Naveed and Sajid, were seen at Bondi Beach near where the shooting would later take place.

In that video, police allege the accused walked along the footbridge where the shooting later occurred, alleging that Naveed and Sajid were “planning” the terrorist attack.

What we know about Naveed in hospital

Naveed was taken to a Sydney hospital after the terror attack on Sunday, December 14. On Tuesday morning, he was arrested for “shooting and killing a number of people on Sunday at Bondi Beach”, the fact sheet reveals. He was read his rights shortly after.

By 3pm on Tuesday, police say Naveed appeared to not remember previous conversations with police, with he rights then being read again.

At 8am on Wednesday, Naveed was given a NSW Police issued mobile to communicate with his legal aid representative.

The fact sheet reveals that “on legal advice, the accused declined to be interviewed” by NSW Police, however, he consented to a “forensic procedure”.
