A 16-year-old boy has died, and two other teenagers have been injured in a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services were called to Hoxton Park Road at Hoxton Park after a black Subaru sedan left the roadway and struck a tree about 8.30pm on Thursday.

The driver, a man believed to be aged 19, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

The front passenger, a 16-year-old boy, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A second passenger - also aged 16 - was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Hoxton Park Road was closed in both directions and diversions were put in place while emergency services remained at the scene.

As inquiries continue anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
