A 51-year-old man has been charged after a disturbing incident, where he allegedly exposed himself to a mother and her two young daughters at a popular beach.

The incident occurred as the mother and two children were walking near the Brighton Beach bathing boxes on Monday afternoon.

According to Victoria Police, the man exposed himself twice to the six and seven-year-old girls around 4.15pm before hiding nearby.

Police responded and deployed the air wing who were able to direct local units to the suspect’s location.

The man was found allegedly hiding in the bushland and was arrested.

The Bayside sexual offences & child abuse investigation team later charged the 51-year-old man from Hampton Park with sexual activity directed towards another.

He is set to appear at the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
