A woman has died at a park in Sydney’s east during a welfare check by police.

Officers were called to a reserve on Baden St in Coogee about 8.30pm on Thursday following a concern for welfare.

When police arrived, they spoke to a woman when she fell and died.

“The investigation is subject to an independent review,” NSW Police said.
