A man has been taken into custody following the discovery of a woman’s body in a residence in Sydney’s Inner West.

Just after 11am today, police responded to reports of a domestic incident at a home on Clements Street, Russell Lea.

Officers from the Burwood Police Area Command arrived at the scene and found the body of a woman, believed to be in her 50s, though she has not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation is currently underway.

A 42-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was arrested at the scene and has been taken to Burwood Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries.
