Estie Esterhuizen, a close friend of Mr Langley’s partner, Heidi, organised a GoFundMe after mutual friends asked to support Mr Langley’s family.

The page raised almost $7000 of a $10,000 target by 2pm EST on Thursday.

“Our hearts go out to Heidi, Marizel, Timmy and the rest of the family — our deepest and most sincere condolences to each of you,” Ms Esterhuizen wrote.

“We can’t even begin to understand what you are all going through now.

“I want to thank you all for the smallest amount, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this page.”

Ms Esterhuizen shared the GoFundMe on Facebook, where friends were shocked at the sudden loss.

“Oohhh, this is absolutely devastating. I’m so sorry to hear — we’ll be praying,” one wrote.

“I’m so deeply sorry to hear the heartbreaking news. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but please know that my thoughts are with you constantly,” wrote another.

“During this incredibly difficult time, I hope you find comfort in the love and support of those around you.

“We’re praying for strength and peace for you and your family.”
