Food recall: Concordia Traders Enoki Mushroom pulled from supermarket shelves over contamination fears

A popular food item has been urgently recalled over contamination fears.

A grocery item is being pulled from supermarket shelves after Australia’s food watchdog issued an urgent recall.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand issued the recall for Concordia Traders Enoki Mushroom over Listeria contamination fears.

The recall affects the 350g size of the product with packaging marked with the use by date May 24, 2026.

The fungi has been available for purchase at Asian grocers in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

Customers who have purchased the product are advised not to consume it due to risk of “severe illness”.

“Listeria monocytogenes may cause severe illness in pregnant women, unborn babies, neonates, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals,” the recall alert, issued on Thursday, read.

“The general population can also become ill from consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

“Consumers should not eat this product.”

Consumers are urged to immediately return the item to the place of purchase.

“Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the recall statement read.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

It comes one week after King Henry’s Bakehouse Rye Bread was recalled after the presence of an undeclared allergen was found.

The recall applies to the 900g loaf with all best before dates from March 30, 2026 up to and including April 30, 2026.

The product has been available for sale in Coles and independent retailers, including IGA, SPAR, Drakes, and Foodworks in south-east Queensland.
