An Aussie tradie has made a terrifying discovery while attending an emergency call-out at a residential property.

In a video posted on Instagram by The Plug GC, Elliot the electrician was visibly shocked by what he found in a power box, saying, “there is no way”.

The Aussie sparky explained he was on an emergency call-out after a Gold Coast resident was having issues with power.

“The RCD is tripping”, he said while looking at the mains box.

“The smell coming from here is horrendous,” he added.

The electrician then reached to pull a cover off the box, exposing a massive snake that had slithered in.

Unfortunately, the carpet python appears to have picked the wrong place to recharge, as the electrician confirmed it was no longer alive.

“It is cooking, I can smell it. It’s smoking,” he said.

In what could be described as graphic vision, the electrician reached into the box to extract the snake, which appeared to have been killed by electrocution.

“Oh my god!” said a person in the background, clearly in disbelief at the slithery find in the home’s mains box.

The video, posted on Thursday, quickly amassed nearly a million views.

“A mouse I can cope with but that thing? Not a chance! Pest control getting called immediately,” one user wrote.

The electrician told one commenter on the video the snake had been “very unlucky”, adding it had slithered in through a hole in the front of the switchboard box, over the top panel and then “down towards the breaker”.
