Police are desperate to speak to the man who threw the coffee.

The mother of a baby who was badly burnt with hot coffee by a stranger has shared an uplifting update on her 9-month-old son’s recovery.

The young mother, who cannot be identified, was sitting with her son in Hanlon Park in Brisbane when a stranger came up and allegedly poured a thermos of hot coffee over the baby.

The baby boy underwent surgery after suffering burns to his face and chest and currently remains in hospital.

The baby boy “is due to have his 3rd surgery on Tuesday where we will hopefully have more information on the next steps,” she wrote.

“He has been incredibly resilient.

“He’s up and about, walking and causing chaos.

“He is such a strong little boy and we are so so proud of him.”

After the shocking incident, a GoFundMe was created to support the family which has raised over $110,000.

“We would like to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity during such a difficult and traumatic time for us,”

The mother said the donations will be able to help the young boy “with all of his ongoing care needs which is truly a weight lifted off our shoulders”.

Queensland Police are still searching for a man in relation to the incident.

Last week, police released multiple images and CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to.

Police said identifying the man in the new images and CCTV footage was critical to their investigation.

The man was wearing glasses, a shirt, shorts and a black hat.
