Man charged with manslaughter after 43-year-old mother killed.

A 41-year-old man from Urangan has been charged following a fatal hit-and-run incident that killed a woman in Hervey Bay.

The incident took place shortly after 12am on Sunday when a Ford Falcon, allegedly driven by the accused, struck a pedestrian on Boundary Road.

The victim, a 43-year-old woman from Urangan, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

Police allege the driver failed to stop and provide assistance following the crash.

The man has been charged with multiple offences, including manslaughter, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without a valid license, and failing to exhibit proper respect for the deceased.

The man has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday.
