Victoria Police would not confirm the woman’s identity on Monday morning or exactly where her remains were found.

Investigators believe the offender knew the victim and may have fled overseas.

“We appreciate the interest in the investigation into the death of a woman, yet to be formally identified, who was located deceased in Buckley on 9 March,” a police statement read.

“We have no further updates at this stage.”

Police previously confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious.
