A fatal crash has left one woman dead and four others seriously injured, as police launch an investigation into the incident.

It’s understood that the two vehicles collided at around 8.20pm on Friday.

The crash involved a 2021 Mazda CX-8 and a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder on Fe Walker Street, west of Ashfield Road in Kalkie, near Bundaberg.

A 57-year-old woman from Bargara, a passenger in the Mazda, suffered critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Three other occupants of the Mazda – a 63-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and a 30-year-old man, all from Bargara – were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The Nissan’s driver, a 46-year-old man from Norville, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Authorities are seeking public assistance with their investigation and urge anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
