At age three, she was given a new diagnosis, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which her mother described as being “equal, if not worse”.

Lulu’s mum, Erin, started an Instagram page dedicated to the young child’s journey through life, something she went on to use to raise vital funds to find a cure and give support.

On Wednesday, at just six-years of age, Lulu passed away, with Erin taking to Instagram to share the heartbreaking update with the 23,000 people who followed the little girl’s life.

“6 years, 3 months, 29 days,” Erin wrote. “It is with the most painful, shattered heart to share that our darling Lulu passed away peacefully in our arms yesterday, surrounded and profoundly loved on by all of her extended family.”

Erin said she and her husband Dave were “just utterly broken”.

“There simply aren’t enough words to express our agony,” she said. “Our baby girl is gone.”

The tragic announcement was flooded with heartfelt condolences, mourning little Lulu.

In September, Erin took to Instagram to celebrate Lulu’s 6th birthday.

“The Princess is SIX!” the mum wrote. “This year was the first in a long time that actually felt exciting.“Lulu was in good spirits, the weather was perfect and we had our nearest and dearest help celebrate her. We all had the best day and just simply loved having people surround her and give her nothing but love.“Lulu, my darling, we absolutely adore you. You honestly have no idea how much we love you.In a statement that is heartbreak now, Erin shared a hope for the future.

“I hope the next six just get better and better. Our world is a better place, having you in it.” she wrote.

On the Instagram page, Erin reguarly shared updates on the medical challenges the family faced while caring for Lulu’s condition.

“After failing close to 15 anti-epileptic drugs, Lulu’s brain continues to rage with an uncontrollable blaze, that simply will not go out. And, most likely never will,” she wrote in 2011.
