Luka Edward Huddle identified as the toddler who drowned in a Lara lake
The grieving family of a toddler who drowned in a Victorian dam have revealed heart-breaking details that led to the boy’s death.
The boy has been identified as two-year-old Luka Jade Edward Huddle.
Luka was reported missing from his home in Lara around 5.20pm on Tuesday and was later discovered by police unconscious in the dam off Windermere road.

In a heartbreaking statement, Luka’s aunt Erin Kester revealed the two-year-old had walked off, following his puppy to a dam before the tragic incident.
“In the afternoon of 4th June 2024 our precious little Luka wandered off, following his beloved puppy Poppy,” she wrote.
“On their adventures together Luka and Poppy discovered a dam and sadly Luka drowned and was found by police and was unresponsive.
“Our hearts are breaking at the sudden shock of this event and the passing of dear beautiful cheeky little Luka who was always full of life and energy.
Ms Kester has set up a GoFundMe to support grieving mother Karin, who is morning her only child.
The fundraiser is seeking support to help them cope with the financial strain and costs involved with Luka’s funeral and memorial.
Ms Kester finished with a touching tribute to her nephew: “In the arms of the angels, our beautiful little Luka Jade Edward.”
