In a heartbreaking statement, Luka’s aunt Erin Kester revealed the two-year-old had walked off, following his puppy to a dam before the tragic incident.

“In the afternoon of 4th June 2024 our precious little Luka wandered off, following his beloved puppy Poppy,” she wrote.

“On their adventures together Luka and Poppy discovered a dam and sadly Luka drowned and was found by police and was unresponsive.

“Our hearts are breaking at the sudden shock of this event and the passing of dear beautiful cheeky little Luka who was always full of life and energy.

The fundraiser is seeking support to help them cope with the financial strain and costs involved with Luka’s funeral and memorial.

Ms Kester finished with a touching tribute to her nephew: “In the arms of the angels, our beautiful little Luka Jade Edward.”
