Man charged after mother-of-two allegedly stabbed to death in Taigum home, Brisbane

A man has been charged after a mother-of-two and nurse was allegedly stabbed to death.
Carra Samantha Luke, 48, was found with critical injuries at a home on Osprey Pl in Taigum, Brisbane’s north, about 12.30am on Saturday.
A family member first alerted police after one of her daughters found Luke unresponsive in her bedroom, with emergency services rushing to the home.

A 52-year-old man from McDowall, known to the woman, was arrested at an address on Hackman St in McDowall.
He has been charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and entering a dwelling with intent.
He is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Assistant Commissioner Rhys Wildman said the scene had been “traumatic” for first responders.
“I think any scene where there’s violence involved is traumatic for all involved, including first responders, police and ambulance,” he said.
“Whilst trained and responding to events such as this right across the state on a daily basis, it’s still very confronting and a difficult scene for them to manage.
“We’ll be providing support services for those frontline officers who attended.”
Luke, a nurse with over 25-years experience, is understood to have worked at doctors surgery at Wavell Heights.
Her work profile describes her as an experienced nurse who is “passionate about excellent nursing care and loves getting to know all her patients from birth up to when they are grown” as well as “being able to provide supporting and patient centred care to people at every stage of their journey”.
Neighbours who spoke to 7NEWS and said Luke was will be remembered as a “kind and “caring” woman.
