Mardi Gras 2026: Activist group Pride in Protest booted from march, accuse organisers of attempted censorship
An activist group says they were banned from marching in the annual Mardi Gras parade over social media ‘genocide’ comments.

A left-wing activist group has been expelled from this year’s Mardi Gras parade after refusing to remove social media posts against another group.
Tens of thousands are expected to descend on Sydney’s CBD on Saturday night for the 48th annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.
But Pride in Protest, a group which has previously marched in the parade, have claimed they were barred from marching by organisers.
