Middleton Grange shooting: Armed 34-year-old man shot dead by police on Bird Walton Avenue
A critical incident investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed by police in Sydney’s south-west.
Around 11 pm on Saturday, police were called to Bird Walton Avenue in Middleton Grange following reports of a man allegedly armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers from the south-west metropolitan region enforcement squad were confronted by a 34-year-old man brandishing the weapon.

A taser was then used, which proved ineffective.
Police then shot the man.
Officers immediately performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, but the man could not be revived.
The state crime command’s homicide squad has launched a critical incident investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
