Man charged with murder after woman’s body found at home near Byron Bay
A man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found in northern NSW.
The woman’s body was found at a home at Casino, south-west of Byron Bay, about 2.30am on Saturday, before a man was arrested a short time later.
Police said they were called to a home on Johnston Street after receiving calls expressing concerns for welfare.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, has not yet been formally identified, according to police.
“A 31-year-old man, believed to be known to the woman, was arrested at the scene and taken to Lismore Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries,” police said.
“A crime scene has been established, and a critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Police said they will also be investigating “all aspects of the response from NSW Police”.
