Muswellbrook crash: Two killed in horror collision in the Upper Hunter Region of New South Wales

Two people have died and three others have been injured in a horror two car crash in the Upper Hunter Region of New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to Denman Road, Edderton, near Muswellbrook, about 243 km north of Sydney, following reports of a head-on crash about 5.30pm on Saturday.

NSW Police said officers from the Hunter Valley Police District arrived at the scene and found two sedans had collided.

“A woman — believed to be aged in her 70s, who was the driver of one of the vehicles — could not be revived and died at the scene,” NSW Police said.

“A passenger in a second vehicle — a man believed to be aged 20s, also died at the scene.”

Three other people, a man and two young women aged in their 20s, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
