Angurugu: Spear embedded in teen’s head after horrific ‘DV attack’ in Northern Territory

A teenager has been evacuated by CareFlight after she was found with a spear embedded in her head following a horrific alleged domestic violence attack.

The 18-year-old was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.

Emergency services were alerted to a violent incident at Angurugu, a community located on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, at 12.05pm on Sunday, with reports the woman had allegedly been stabbed in the head with a spear by a male known to her.

The alleged offender is on the run and investigations are ongoing.
