A teenaged boy has died in a vehicle rollover in the Northern Territory.

The boy was the sole occupant of a Toyota Prado when it rolled on Girraween Rd in Herbert — in the outskirts of Darwin — about 10pm on Friday.

Paramedics attended the site of the crash, but the boy died.

Northern Territory Police established a crime scene and are investigating the crash.

A section of Girraween Rd was closed throughout the night but has since reopened.

Anyone with relevant information — including dashcam footage recorded between 9.30pm and 10pm along Hutchinson Rd and Girraween Rd — is urged to contact police.
