A pilot has narrowly escaped injury after a light plane crashed, prompting an emergency response on Good Friday.

A pilot has escaped injury after a light aircraft crashed near Albion Park on Friday morning while attempting to land.
Emergency services were called to a paddock off the Illawarra Highway just before 8.30am following reports that a plane had come down.
It is understood that the aircraft missed the runway by about 200 metres during its landing attempt before coming to rest in the nearby field.

He was assessed by paramedics at the scene as a precaution, but was not injured.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
