Footage captured from inside the Jetstar flight shows passengers listening to an announcement from the pilot, informing them of the near miss and injury to a cabin crew member.

“With the sudden stop we have had a situation where one of our cabin crew has been injured,” the pilot can be heard saying.

The pilot said the flight would be returning to the bay once a safety car could be tasked to escort them “due to the proximity of the 777” to the right of the aircraft.

“The situation there is that they said they didn’t follow instructions, we were told to hold short and we were focused on crossing a runway, so only by chance that at the last minute we were able to stop” he said in the video.

The pilot said the other aircraft had broken its towing equipment so could not be pushed backwards.

The footage also shows the Qatar aircraft outside the window of the Jetstar plane, with its front wheel appearing to face the wrong direction.

Jetstar passengers have been told they will be disembarking the aircraft.

Sydney Airport has been contacted for comment.
