Beaumont Hills: School lockdowns lifted after reports of person with firearm

Lockdowns across a number of Sydney schools have been lifted after police revealed reports of a person with a firearm turned out to be something very different.
Police swarmed the Beaumont Hills area about 10.24am on Monday after alarmed bystanders on Guardian Avenue reported a person was seen walking along the footpath carrying firearms.
“Police commenced a large search of the area and, following inquiries, were able to speak to the person and established the firearms seen were toys that had been picked up from a local clean-up,” a NSW Police statement on X read. .

“Those lockdowns have since been lifted.
“Police treat all reports seriously and thank the community for their assistance.”
The NSW Department of Education has been contacted for comment.
