Body found in dry creek bed in Lavington during search for missing NSW woman

A crime scene was declared after the woman was found on Wednesday morning.

A body has been found during the search for a missing woman in NSW’s south.

The 44-year-old woman was last seen in North Albury about 4am on Monday and was reported missing shortly after.

“About 10.55am on Wednesday, police were called to a creek at the end of Livermore Street, Lavington, following reports of a body found in a dry creek bed,” police said.

“Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and established a crime scene.

“While the body has not yet been formally identified, initial inquiries indicate it is the missing woman.”

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Investigations are ongoing.
