A woman and a man are in critical condition after crashing their car into a pole during a police pursuit

Police attempted to stop an unregistered Ford Falcon at about 7.20pm on Thursday night.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and kept driving along McBurney Road in Cabramatta, a busy hub in Sydney’s southwest.

Police chased the car onto Railway Parade at Canley Vale, where the couple crashed into a power pole.

The Ford was driven by a 33-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old male was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both were treated by paramedics at the scene, and have since been rushed to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.
