“You’re joking, oh my god,” the woman screamed when she answered the call.

“I’m just gobsmacked. I just can’t believe it ... I was just nodding off, falling asleep when you rang.”

“In our dreams, we’ve thought about what we’d do with a big win, but you never think it’s going to come true.

Her husband questioned whether the call was “really for real” but, upon accepting his new reality, reacted humbly — even deciding to go to work on Wednesday.

“I always say that I’ve already won the lottery because I live in Australia, I’m healthy, and I met my beautiful wife,” he said.

“This is going to give us some time. It buys us time to be able to do the things we want to do. And help the people in your life that have helped you, and you want to help them back.”

The winning wife told The Lott she usually played Powerball instead, but decided to “give Oz Lotto a chance”.

She bought an 18-game QuickPick entry in draw 1587 from Kenthurst Cellars at the Kenthurst Village Shopping Centre, with winning numbers 18, 1, 42, 33, 15, 36 and 10, and supplementary numbers 9, 12 and 27.
