George Street, Sydney CBD: Woman charged for alleged late-night restaurant brawl

A woman has been charged after the alleged assault of another woman earlier this month.

On Saturday, September 13, police received a report of an alleged assault outside of a restaurant on George Street, Sydney.

Police were told the incident began about 11.30pm on Friday, 12 September, when the 33-year-old was verbally abused by an unknown woman while inside a restaurant.

The victim left the venue, where she was allegedly confronted by the same woman, threatened, and assaulted.

During the alleged attack, the 33-year-old suffered multiple scratches to her face and injuries to her arms and legs.

Officers from Sydney city police area command launched an investigation and, following inquiries, arrested a 21-year-old woman at a Liverpool Street unit block about 12.30am today, Wednesday, 17 September.

She was taken to Day Street police station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman was refused bail and was due to face Bail Division Local Court 7 today.
