Moree motel: Second Sydney 13-year-old charged after brutal stabbing that left man hospitalised

A second teenager has been charged over an alleged stabbing at a Moree motel in the state’s North-West on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to a motel on Alice Street just before 1am on 14 September, after reports of a stabbing.
Police were told a group of five allegedly forced their way into a room where they were confronted by a 52-year-old man. A struggle broke out, during which the man was allegedly stabbed in the torso and arm.

Paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before he was taken to the hospital in a stable condition, where he remains.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and charged. He is currently before the courts.
Detectives from the New England police district, with assistance from Western Region specialist officers, established strike force jamesport to investigate the incident.
Following inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a second 13-year-old boy at a Hillvue home about 10.50am on Tuesday, 16 September.
He was taken to Tamworth police station and charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit a serious indictable offence, and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The teen was refused bail and appeared before a children’s court the same day, where he was granted conditional bail to reappear on Thursday, 20 November.
