Grasmere, Sydney: Man charged with attempted murder over spear attack, sword stabbing of Camden police officer

A man has been arrested and charged with 11 offences including attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a police officer with a sword.
Police were called to a home on Werombi Road in Grasmere at 5.20pm on November 7 following reports of a welfare concern.
Officers attempted to arrest a 20-year-old man who allegedly resisted and threw a spear before stabbing a 28-year-old officer in the leg with a sword.

The 28-year-old officer was treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A crime scene was established and officers seized a knife, hatchet and spear - each of which will undergo forensic examination.
The 20-year-old man has now been charged 11 offences including two counts of attempted murder and four counts of wounding a person with intent to resist/prevent arrest.
He was also charged with the use of an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and the wounding a police officer executing duty reckless as to actual bodily harm.
Further, he was charged with hindering/resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.
He has been refused bail.
