A suburban home has been the target of a firebombing attack for the second time in just 24 hours.

An unoccupied house in Greenacre, Sydney's southwest, has been firebombed twice within a 24-hour period.

A home in Sydney’s southwest has been the target of a firebombing attack for the second time in less than 24 hours.

Around 11.30pm on Monday, emergency services rushed to a house on Macquarie Street in Greenacre following reports of a fire.

It followed an earlier incident around 1am on Monday, when emergency services responded to reports that a firebomb had been thrown at the same property, igniting flames.

Fire and Rescue NSW were able to extinguish the fire on both occasions.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into both incidents, which are believed to be linked, has been launched.

Police say the home is currently unoccupied and there were no reports of anyone being injured.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with information about the incident – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Bankstown Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
